Renewing Your Mind | Wednesday, January 29 | Day Three: Consecration Week 2025

As you begin these devotions, we suggest keeping a journal with you to record your thoughts, what stands out to you, and what you hear from the Lord.
Morning Meditation: Setting Your Mind on God
Focus Scripture: Romans 12:2
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Reflection:
Start your day by reflecting on the power of transformation through renewing your mind. This can be by meditating on Scripture, listening to praise and worship music, and praying throughout the day. Consider how the world’s patterns often distract from God’s truth.
Ask yourself:
- How can I focus my mind and my thoughts on God’s will today?
Prayer Prompt:
- Pray for discernment and the Holy Spirit’s help to remove things that distract you from focusing on God.
- Ask God to shape your thoughts and transform your perspective throughout the day.
Your prayer could start with: “God, I know I have been distracted by things that take me away from you. Please show me what those are and help me to surrender them to you. I want my thoughts to be yours. Holy Spirit, would you help my family, friends, and church guard and renew their minds?”
Challenge:
Identify one worldly influence—such as negative self-talk, unhealthy media, or a distracting habit—to avoid today. Replace it with Scripture, prayer, or a worship song. You may need additional accountability from someone, so do not be afraid to be open and transparent with a safe and trusted family member or friend.
Evening Meditation: Meditating on God’s Truth
Focus Scripture: Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."
Reflection:
As you wind down, reflect on where your mind wanders throughout the day. Meditate on how filling your mind with what is excellent and praiseworthy brings peace and clarity and how it impacts your family, friends, and the next generation.
Ask yourself:
- Did you focus on God’s truth, or were you distracted by negative, unhealthy, or worldly thoughts?
Prayer Prompt:
- Thank God for the ways He guided your thoughts today.
- Ask for forgiveness if you allowed your mind to dwell on things not aligned with His truth.
- Pray for continued renewal and focus.
Your prayer could start with: “Lord, I thank you for your word that renews my mind. I ask for your help to meditate on your truth. You have designed me to be in this moment of history; help me to support my family, friends, church, and the next generation to stand firm in biblical truth.”
Challenge:
Before bed, write down one thought or truth from Scripture that encouraged you today. Commit to meditating on it as you fall asleep and carrying it into tomorrow. Ask the Lord to give you a Scripture to pray over your church and the nations this week.
