Pastoral Transition Update | 11.2.2025

As I reflect on this past season of ministry, I am filled with gratitude for the faith, unity, and expectancy you continue to bring to this journey. You’ve walked with us through celebration and challenge, vision and transition, and I believe, more than ever, that God is preparing Waymaker.Church for a powerful new chapter.

So, I want to share an important and encouraging update regarding our Lead Pastor Search Process.

Where We Are
As you know, part of my calling in this season has been to help our elder team steward a healthy and Spirit-led succession as I transition out of the Lead Pastor role. This is not something we take lightly; it’s sacred.

After months of prayer, planning, and preparation, we have partnered with Vanderbloemen Search Group, a third-party firm specializing in pastoral succession and national church searches. They will be assisting us in identifying and connecting with potential candidates. This allows us to honor both discernment and due diligence, leaving space for God to lead as He wills.

How You Can Engage
This is a pivotal moment for our church. You don’t need to be part of a committee to be involved. We believe every one of us is invited to pray, prepare, and participate:

1. Pray: for clarity and unity; for the Elder Team, potential candidates, and our church family as we listen to the Spirit.
2. Prepare: ask God to ready your heart. Trust is essential when embracing change, even good change. Let’s approach this transition with faith, maturity, and grace, eager for what God is doing.
3. Participate: stay engaged. Be present, worship with expectation, and invite others to witness God's work.

We are not entering into uncertainty but stepping into promise. God is crafting a story that spans generations. Let’s continue to show up for our part.
