God's Presence | Monday, January 27 | Day One: Consecration Week 2025

As you begin these devotions, we suggest keeping a journal with you to record your thoughts, what stands out to you, and what you hear from the Lord.
Morning Meditation: Pursuing God’s Presence
Focus Scripture: Psalm 27:4
"One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple."
Reflection:
Begin your day by meditating on the psalmist's desperation to be in God's presence. Reflect on the beauty, peace, and joy of dwelling with Him.
Ask yourself:
- What would it look like to prioritize seeking God’s presence in my daily routine?
- What role can I play in guiding the next generation to seek him?
- Extend this desire to your family, friends, and church.
Prayer Prompt:
- Pray for a heart that longs for God above all else.
- Ask for clarity and focus to see His beauty and to dwell in His presence throughout the day.
- Pray for your family, friends, and church to encounter God’s presence.
Your prayer could start with: “Lord, help me to find you in all I do and in every encounter. Help me, my family (including spouse and children), and my friends to be aware of your presence like never before as I go about my day.”
Challenge:
Throughout the day, intentionally pause and acknowledge God’s presence in your tasks and conversations. Seeking Him does not have to be long and can be during your lunch hour, an afternoon break, or your kids’ naptime. Include a short prayer, reread Psalm 27:4, and consider what it means for you, your family, your friends, the nations, and the next generation.
Evening Meditation: Resting in God’s Presence
Focus Scripture: Psalm 16:11
"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."
Reflection:
As your day comes to an end, look back on the moments when you felt God's presence or saw glimpses of His hand in your life. Consider how resting in His presence has brought you peace and joy, even in challenges.
Ask yourself:
- How did I seek God’s presence today, and how can I continue to grow in that?
- How can I intercede for my church and the nations to be drawn to God’s presence?
Prayer Prompt:
- Thank God for walking with you through the day.
- If there were struggles, repent and surrender them to Him.
Your prayer could start with: “Father, thank you for your presence in my life. Thank you for allowing me to rest in your arms and know you are my safe place. May my family, friends, and church learn to rest in you daily so we may demonstrate to the next generation a life that knows how to rest in your presence.”
Challenge:
Before bed, spend a few quiet moments meditating on God's goodness. Write down one way you experienced His presence today or something you're grateful for.
